Apache Table by Konstantin Grcic, who was honored as the Design Miami/ Designer of the Year in 2010, is also at Galerie kreo’s booth. The piece, which is part of the collection “CHAMPIONS” was made this year. It is constructed with lacquered aluminum and a glass top. It is a part of a limited edition of six, plus two artist’s proofs.

“I want the tables to appear like they are Forumula 1 cars lined up on the starting grid of a race track,”
explains Konstantin Grcic.

Grcic worked on these pieces with renowned lacquerer Walter Maurer, who worked directly with Andy Warhol and Frank Stella in Germany on their cars for BMW in the mid-1970s. The slogans on the piece’s structure are reminders of Grcic’s passion for the performance and sport realm, but the structure is inspired by Jean Prouvé.

Galerie kreo was established in 1999 by Didier and Clèmence Krzentowski to support and foster creative and innovative design.
